PORT ANGELES — Longtime Peninsula Daily News Sports Editor Brad LaBrie is recovering from a stroke he suffered Monday, his wife, Sidra Johansen said.
Johansen said Wednesday that LaBrie, 63, was receiving treatment in the Olympic Medical Center critical care unit.
LaBrie was taken to the hospital by ambulance at about 5:45 p.m. Monday after he collapsed while leaving a restaurant in Port Angeles.
A California native, he has been sports editor at the PDN since October 1998.
Sportswriter Lee Horton has assumed duties as acting sports editor in LaBrie’s absence.
