OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Paving work on U.S. Highway 101 around Lake Crescent will continue moving westbound from Barnes Point at milepost 227.5 with a pilot car guiding traffic this week.
Additional work also will be under way between mileposts 223 and 222 for mechanically stabilized earth wall construction.
Beginning Monday night after work hours, temporary traffic signals will be in place again. Drivers should expect short delays after hours for alternating single-lane traffic.
Drivers should expect up to a half-hour of total stop time with slower travel through the 12-mile project zone, said Penny Wagner, Olympic National Park spokeswoman.
Drivers should watch for flaggers and expect heavy truck traffic through the construction zone, Wagner said.
Through late September, road work is restricted to two hours after sunrise to two hours before sunset.
Strider Construction Inc. of Bellingham is in its second of three seasons of work to rehabilitate 12 miles of the highway around Lake Crescent in a project costing $27.5 million. Construction seasons are from March through mid-November.
