SEQUIM — A “fantasy” view of the Dungeness River Valley will be the newest mural in the area and the eighth painted by artist Tim Quinn.
The Dungeness River Audubon Center project includes two murals. The main mural will depict the river south to the Olympic Mountains; the other will look from the river’s mouth into Dungeness Bay.
The works will occupy opposite walls in the Audubon Center on Hendrickson Road.
The main mural will be 16 feet tall and give viewers the perspective of standing in a cut in the river bank looking toward the mountains.
“I call it a fantasy because you’d never be able to see the mountains like that from the river,” Quinn said Tuesday. “The mountain view is what you’d see looking from Deer Park, but it works.”
