PORT ANGELES – The new bus routes for the 2007-08 school year have been released by the school district.
Letters verifying the new routes will be mailed to families in mid-August.
The district has posted the new bus schedules on its Web site: www.portangelesschools.org.
Parents with students in special needs programs and kindergarten will receive bus information in mid-August.
Transportation planning also continues for special education students.
The new routes account not just for the district’s realignment plan, approved in November 2006, but also for the 18-month closure of the two Eighth Street bridges while they are being replace.
The closure is expected sometime this summer.
They include temporary busing for Stevens Middle School students living between the two bridges as well as two new routes for those students.
