OPNET issues arrest warrant in drug case

PORT ANGELES — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Port Angeles man for failure to appear in court last week in an ongoing methamphetamine case.

Darrin M. Liggins, 42, was charged in July with three counts of delivery of methamphetamine for allegedly selling the drug to a confidential Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team, or OPNET, informant March 6, 13

and 28.

Clallam County Superior Court Judge Erik Rohrer issued the $5,000 warrant after Liggins failed to appear in court Wednesday.

Anyone with information about Liggins’ whereabouts is asked to phone 9-1-1.

Also wanted on a $5,000 warrant is Bonnie L. Schultz, address unknown.

Schultz, 29, allegedly sold methamphetamine to an OPNET informant in Brinnon on Dec. 11.

Anyone with information about Schultz’s whereabouts is asked to phone Jefferson County Sheriff’s Detective Brett Anglin at 360-344-9762.

OPNET is composed of officers from law enforcement agencies across the North Olympic Peninsula.

In other OPNET news:

■   Mark J. Pierce, 43, of Port Hadlock was charged Thursday in Jefferson County Superior Court with three counts of delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school bus stop.

Pierce was arrested at his home Wednesday after OPNET developed probable cause that he sold the drug April 8, June 5 and June 19.

■   Susan M. Smith, 46, also of Port Hadlock, was charged Thursday in Jefferson County Superior Court with delivery of methamphetamine.

Smith was arrested at her home Wednesday for investigation of selling methamphetamine July 2.

■   Terri L. Turner, 55, of Port Townsend was charged Sept. 18 in Jefferson County Superior Court with three counts of delivery of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Turner was arrested Sept. 17 for investigation of selling the drug Feb. 28, March 5 and March 11.

■   Travis D. Chapman, 41, of Sequim was sentenced in Clallam County Superior Court on Oct. 22 to two years’ probation and three months of residential chemical dependency treatment after pleading guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and bail jumping.

Chapman pleaded guilty Sept. 24 to delivering methamphetamine to OPNET on April 1, 2010, and bail jumping Jan. 6, 2011.

His criminal history includes first-degree burglary, OPNET officials said.
