PORT ANGELES — One of two Port Angeles women injured in a wreck last week was released from Olympic Medical Center on Monday while the second remains hospitalized in Seattle.
Chandra M. Johnson, 23, was released from Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles on Monday, said Bobby Beeman, spokeswoman for OMC.
Rachelle E. Grasso, 26, of Port Angeles remained in satisfactory condition Monday, according to Harborview spokeswoman Susan Gregg.
Grasso had surgery Thursday and was initially in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Friday.
On Saturday, her condition was upgraded to satisfactory and has remained stable, Gregg said.
At about 10:18 a.m. Wednesday, Grasso’s Toyota pickup truck crossed the center line and collided with Johnson’s Nissan Altima on U.S. Highway 101 just east of Laird Road.
The highway was partially blocked for nearly five hours as State Patrol and firefighters treated the two women and cleared the scene.
The State Patrol said drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
