NEAH BAY – One person was injured in a collision of two pickups 1.9 miles east of Neah Bay on Wednesday.
Edward F. Duffy, 52, of Freeland, was taken to the Forks Community Hospital with a complaint of a sore shoulder after the 2:26 p.m. wreck.
The driver of the other pickup, Glenn R. Anderson, 49, of Forks, was not injured, according to the State Patrol.
Anderson’s 2006 Toyota pickup, towing an empty boat trailer, was traveling west on state Highway 112 when Duffy’s 2001 green Ford pickup, which was traveling east, crossed the center line and hit the left rear wheel assembly of the boat trailer, the State Patrol said in a press memo.
Duffy’s pickup rolled onto its passenger side and slid about 35 feet before coming to rest on the center line face west, the State Patrol said.
Anderson’s pickup came to rest a few feet from the point of impact, with the boat trailer separated from the pickup.
The State Patrol estimated Duffy’s pickup to be a total loss. Anderson’s truck was not damaged, but the trailer was a total loss, the agency said
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
