PORT ANGELES – Olympic Medical Center sent detailed three-year contracts to its primary care providers Wednesday, and hospital CEO Eric Lewis said he was optimistic about negotiations.
The nine family physicians have worked without contracts since their old agreements ran out Dec. 31.
Lewis told OMC board members at their meeting Wednesday night that “the negotiations are going well and are positive in tone.
“We have had several meetings and made progress at every meeting.”
He said he hoped contracts could be signed before April 1.
“The good news is, we have lawyers involved in drafting contracts. The bad news is, we have lawyers involved in drafting contracts,” Lewis joked.
The doctors were not available for comment and did not return calls from Peninsula Daily News.
