CARLSBORG — Olympic Nature Experience has announced that it has been granted $5,000 by the Benjamin N. Phillips Memorial Fund, through the Seattle Foundation.
The grant will support the organization’s improvement of its outreach and fundraising programs, according to a press release.
“Fundraising and outreach are important to our nature school because they help us raise the money to offer tuition assistance and scholarships to our students,” said Kia Armstrong, Olympic Nature Experience board member. “By raising money through events and campaigns, we can also keep our program prices as low as possible keeping it accessible for more families.”
Olympic Nature Experience offers outdoor programs for children age 18 months to 12 years through an outdoor play group, preschool, after-school programs, home-school enrichment and seasonal camps. They believe all people deserve access to nature to foster their connection to themselves, their community and the Earth.
“Creating outdoor learning opportunities, in a community, year-round, allows children to build skills, knowledge and resilience that only nature can provide,” said Sarah Greenwald, administrative director and lead teacher of home-school enrichment classes at Olympic Nature Experience.
“We are grateful to the Benjamin N. Phillips Memorial Fund for giving this opportunity to continue growing our organization so we can keep growing our programs.”
