OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Heavy rainfall last week has left several roads within the park under water or severely damaged.
Park officials don’t expect the cost of repairing the damage to go above $500,000, but specific estimates have not been tallied, according to spokeswoman Barb Maynes.
Maynes said park officials have applied for Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Highways funding to help repair six roads within the 922,651-acre park.
“We are committed to re-opening these roads as quickly as possible,” said Olympic National Park Superintendent Bill Laitner.
