Olympic National Park officials are hoping the public can help develop a plan to repair or relocate Graves Creek Road.
The six-mile road, located in Olympic National Park’s Quinault Valley in southwest Jefferson County, has been closed to traffic since fall 1999 when high East Fork Quinault River streamflows washed out a section of the road.
Heavy rains two months ago and high streamflows have further damaged the road.
Comments about road reconstruction or relocation will be considered in a draft environmental assessment to be prepared later this winter.
“This road provides access not only to the very popular Enchanted Valley trailhead, but also to the Graves Creek campground,” Olympic National Park Superintendent David Morris said Wednesday.
