PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center will advertise for bids Friday on a $14.46 million expansion of its Sequim Medical Park.
Hospital commissioners Wednesday approved spending $12.125 million to build an ancillary services building and $2.335 million for an addition to the existing cancer center.
“The motion passes,” said Jim Leskinovitch, board chairman, after commissioners unanimously endorsed the plan.
“And that is one big motion.”
Packets for bidders will be available Monday at the hospital, 939 Caroline St., with groundbreaking expected in mid-August, said Jim Paapke, hospital director of facility management.
By late August, he said, “we’ll have a big hole in the ground.”
Completion is expected in about 15 months.
