PORT ANGELES — A state Department of Ecology investigator was on his way from Olympia on Sunday night to search for the source of a diesel fuel spill in the west end of the Boat Haven marina.
The slick covered an area roughly 400 feet by 150 feet, according to Coast Guard pollution investigators, and measured less than 1 millimeter thick.
The size of the spill in gallons could not be estimated.
The slick was reported at about 3:30 p.m.
A crew from Coast Guard Group/Air Station Port Angeles isolated it with booms to keep it from spreading.
