THERE ARE IMPORTANT primary elections in Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles and some fire districts that cover unincorporated areas.
For example, two seats on the Port Townsend City Council, primary elections for commissioner in the ports of Port Angeles and Port Townsend, and a three-person race for a Port Angeles School District board seat.
And that’s where the Peninsula Daily News’ Primary Election Voter Guide comes in.
The 16-page guide features candidates’ profiles and responses to questions in a Q&A format. There’s also an article on the library bond issue in Port Townsend.
If you have received your ballot in the mail and haven’t voted, you’re near the wire: voting ends tomorrow, Tuesday, at 8 p.m. (earlier to get the Aug. 6 postmark if you return it by mail).

A limited number of free printed copies are available at courthouses, city halls, senior centers and other public contact points in Port Townsend, Sequim and Port Angeles.
You can also pick up a copy at the PDN’s office at 305 W. First St. in downtown Port Angeles.
