Nominations sought for National Public Health Week

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Public Health will celebrate National Public Health Week from April 6 to April 12.

This year’s theme is “Looking Back, Moving Forward.”

The health department is seeking nominations for public health heroes.

Nominations can be based on one of the daily public heath focus areas or any other area of public health.

The daily focus areas are mental health and chemical dependency, material and child health, violence prevention, environmental health, education, healthy housing and economics.

Nomination forms are available at Jefferson County Public Health, 615 Sheridan St., or online at www.jeffersoncountypublic health.org.

Completed nominations can be hand delivered to the office, mailed in or emailed to info@jefferson countypublichealth.org.

Nominations must be received by March 31, and will be announced at the Jefferson County Board of Health meeting April 16.
