PORT ANGELES — Now begins the bumpy part for motorists who travel Clallam County’s busiest road.
Lincoln Street, which carries as many as 13,000 vehicles daily, will be closed to vehicle traffic every night from Monday through Friday and into early Saturday morning for a $650,000 road improvement project.
It will stretch two miles along U.S. Highway 101 and Lincoln Street.
Nighttime work will last from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather and machinery permitting, said George Peabody, project manager for Lakeside Industries, the project contractor.
Most of the project is scheduled for nighttime hours because the route is so busy.
