Area vendors, tastings and prizes are planned in the ballroom at the hotel at 221 N. Lincoln St.

PORT ANGELES — Alternative Health Cinema will be showing a wide variety of films on all areas of health, including body, mind and spirit.
These screenings are free and will start at 4 p.m. Show up 10 to 15 minutes early to get some popcorn and a seat.

■ March 2: “Cowspiracy,” a documentary on animal agriculture.
■ March 9: “Blue Gold: World Water Wars,” documentary on what is happening with water in the world.
■ March 16: “First Do No Harm,” a “docudrama” with Meryl Streep on ketogenic lifestyle and epilepsy.
■ March 23: “Veterans and the Emotional Freedom.”
■ March 30: “Fresh,” a documentary on the cycle of current food production methods.

Travel talk
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula will host Kevin Williams, a 2003 graduate of Port Angeles High School, for two presentations on “Traveling with a Mobile Device” on Thursday.
The first presentation will take place at the Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St., Sequim, at noon.
The second presentation is at the Port Angeles Senior & Community Center, 328 E. Seventh St., at 7 p.m.
Both sessions are open to the general public by donation to benefit the Boys and Girls Club.
“Mobile devices are revolutionizing how we travel,” Williams said.
“With a focus on Apple and Android devices, I’ll cover basic functions, such as how to avoid outrageous data-roaming fees, and share some tips on making the most of your device as a tool for navigating, getting key information and staying in touch with family and friends.”

Rhody society
CHIMACUM — The Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will meet in the backroom of the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Atsuko Gibson will speak on “Make Your Plant Thrive: Rhododendron Culture” and will cover planting, soil, fertilizing, watering, disease and pests.
Gibson is assistant curator at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden in Federal Way and has been there for six years.
She has a bachelor’s degree in ornamental horticulture and interned at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and several other Scotland gardens.
The public is invited.
