NEWS BRIEFS: Pavement repair planned starting Thursday in Port Angeles … and other items

PORT ANGELES — Portions of Port Angeles streets will be closed Thursday for paving repairs.

Traffic will be detoured except for local traffic until repair of failed asphalt exacerbated by recent winter weather is completed.

The project will encompass five locations.

Closures are planned for:

• 16th Street between N Street and Owens Avenue.

• Liberty Street between Sixth Street and Lauridsen Boulevard.

• The 500 to 600 blocks of Park Avenue.

Repairs on McDougal Street and Church Street will be done in a manner that allows for one lane of vehicle traffic to remain open at all times, controlled by flagging.

The project is expected to take approximately two weeks, beginning first at the 16th Street and Liberty Street locations, and then proceeding to the other three areas.

For more information, contact Jonathan Boehme, project manager, at 360-417-4811 or jboehme@cityofpa.us.
