Deadline extended

SEQUIM — Soroptimist International of Sequim is extending the due date of its annual Vocational Technical Award to Monday, Aug. 15.

Because the organization’s website was down June 1-15, those applying for the award were not able to submit an application, which prompted an extension.

The original deadline was July 30.

The $2,000 award is given to a female of any age who is enrolled in a non-degree program leading to a certificate or license.

Examples include but are not limited to EMT, firefighter, real estate, massage therapist, welder, computer tech, cosmetology, nursing, medical assistant and building trades.

To be eligible for the award, applicants must reside in the Sequim School District or be a graduate from Sequim High School and must be enrolled in the program by the application deadline.

Application packets are available online at www.sequimsi.org under “What We Do” and “Awards and Scholarships.”

Applications must be postmarked by Aug. 15.
