NEWS BRIEFS: New officers installed at association … and other items

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Downtown Association has announced the installation of newly elected officers for 2019.

The officers were installed at a regularly scheduled board meeting Jan. 14 in the Butler room of the Naval Elks Lodge.

The new officers are: President April Bellerud, Odyssey Bookshop; Vice President Beth Witters, Cabled Fiber & Yarn; Secretary Melissa Mezei, Red Lion Hotel; and Treasurer Eric Brown, Brown’s Outdoor.

Design award

PORT ANGELES — Laurel Black of Port Angeles’ Laurel Black Design was recently selected as a winner in the 2018 American Graphic Design Awards.

Black’s redesigned logo for the Port of Port Angeles received a certificate of excellence.

According to a press release, the port’s new logo was selected from more than 10,000 entries nationwide for recognition.
