NEWS BRIEFS — Coast Guardsman honored for achievements at Port Angeles station . . . and other items

PORT ANGELES — The Navy League of the United States Bremerton/Olympic Peninsula Council recently recognized Damage Controlman 2nd Class Daniel Delpriore as Enlisted Person of the Quarter.

Delpriore is stationed at U.S. Coast Guard Air Station/Sector Field Office Port Angeles.

During the all-hands gathering, Navy League member Ken Sweeney presented Delpriore with an eagle statuette engraved with his name.

In an introduction by the station’s commanding officer, Cmdr. Andrew Eriks detailed Delpriore’s achievements that led to his selection as a key unit leader.

According to the citation, Delpriore’s diligent and devoted efforts to mission support have made an indelible mark on his unit, his supervisors and his subordinates.

During the third quarter, Delpriore aided five Coast Guard patrol boats by performing high-level maintenance procedures.

He also provided emergency repairs to raw water piping systems on Coast Guard cutters Swordfish and Sea Lion that saved the Coast Guard thousands of dollars in contractor costs, among several other achievements.
