PORT ANGELES — All Points Charters & Tours, operated by Willie Nelson, will run its annual Christmas Lights Tour from this coming Tuesday through Dec. 26.
Tours are two hours long and take riders to view the Port Angeles-area Christmas lights on display at residences and businesses.
Tours are $7.50 for adults, $3.75 for children ages 6-12 and free for kids younger than 5.
Tours are by reservation only and can be made by phoning Nelson at 360-460-7131.
Elwha River films
PORT ANGELES — The prize-winning “Return of the River” will be shown in the Elwha Klallam Heritage Center, 401 E. First St., from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
Admission is by donation.
The director will be available for a Q&A after the film.

A documentary that includes a segment on the Elwha dams also screens in Port Angeles this week.
“DamNation,” an 87-minute film that examines pride in big dams to a new awareness of how river and human health are connected, will screen in the second-floor conference room of The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave., at 7 p.m. Friday.
Admission is a $5 donation toward the Coastal Watershed Institute.
Roosevelt drive
PORT ANGELES — Roosevelt Elementary School students, staff and families are gathering donations until Friday for the school’s annual holiday drive to help Roosevelt families in need.
“Students and staff will be collecting nonperishable food items; children’s books; toiletries such as toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant; and winter clothing items such as coats, hats, gloves, boots and snow pants,” teacher and organizer Kelly Sanders said.
“Leftover food, coats and toiletries will go to local charities, and extra books will be saved for our summer reading program.”
In December 2013, students and staff gathered 4,617 items for 61 Roosevelt families in need during the annual event.
Community members can also make donations, either noted items or cash accepted, and deliver them to the school’s office at 106 Monroe Road.

Forks writers meet for 1st time at library
FORKS — The first meeting of the West End Writers’ Workshop will be held at the Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave., from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
This period will be used to establish meeting times and criteria for sharing and critiquing creative written works.
The West End Writers’ Workshop is for individuals who wish to explore their creativity, improve their writing skills and share their creative works for the group to enjoy and contribute productive criticism.
No particular genres of writing are required. Meetings are also open to individuals who do not write but still wish to participate in the reading of written works and discussions.
Those writers wishing to participate are asked to bring at least one and no more than three works.

SEQUIM — Skipping Christmas by John Grisham will be discussed at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., at 3 p.m. Saturday.
