New restaurant slated for John Wayne Marina

SEQUIM – A new restaurant offering “casual fine dining” is slated to open in August at John Wayne Marina – without food service for more than 14 months.

The Dockside Grill would provide lunch, dinner and catering as well as breakfast on a case-by-case basis, said Steve Little, former Xanadu Grill owner east of Sequim, to Port of Port Angeles commissioners on Monday.

The port controls the marina and onshore buildings.

“I’d like to thank the commissioners for reviewing and accepting our proposal. I look forward to serving customers who followed me since Xanadu Grill,” Little said.

Port commissioners unanimously approved a $1,545-a-month lease for the new business at their meeting Monday.

“I’m really glad to finally see it occupied, especially by someone who can run a quality restaurant,” said Port Commissioner George Schoenfeldt.
