LAKE CRESCENT — Olympic Park Institute’s new executive director says he hopes to contribute his nonprofit experience and energy to the institute’s hands-on nature and science educational programs.
“I am thrilled to be here,” said Scott Schaffer. “There is an incredible amount of energy from our instructors and staff and I hope to contribute to an already great program.”
Schaffer was president and executive director of Philabundance, a Philadelphia food-rescue organization, and the manager of program planning for United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
“I think one of the nicest things about Scott is that he really values getting involved in the community,” said JoAnne Heron, Olympic Park Institute development director.
Schaffer volunteered for various organizations in Pennsylvania and several national organizations.
