New emergency medical technicians graduate

The Jefferson County Emergency Medicine System and Trauma Care Council graduated nine new emergency medical technicians at a May 24 ceremony in Port Hadlock.

The graduates are Megan Fields, Brinnon Fire Department; Devon Beckham, East Jefferson Fire Rescue; Josue Barajas, Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue; Tyson Svetich, Quilcene Fire Rescue; K. Heidt, Jefferson County Search & Rescue; Sandra Pawley, Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue and Brinnon Fire Department; James Stewart, Jefferson County Search & Rescue and Discovery Bay Volunteer Fire & Rescue; Nick Forcier, Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue; and Andrew Lewis, Quilcene Fire Rescue.

The students completed more than 200 hours of training over a three-month period under the instruction of Lieutenant Trevor Bergen, a firefighter/paramedic with East Jefferson Fire Rescue.
