Marcy Parker and Micah McCarty advance to the Makah general tribal council election ballot Dec. 16 after finishing first and second, respectively, in Tuesday’s primary election.
Parker won with 29 votes and McCarty finished second with 27 votes, Tribal Council Chairman Nathan Tyler said.
They will be vying for the post vacated by former Tribal Council Chairman Gordon Smith.
Ed Claplanhoo, who finished third in Tuesday’s election, is serving out the term ending Dec. 31.
Other candidates seeking a general election nomination included Claplanhoo with 26 votes, Blanchard Matte with 22 votes and Donna Wilkie with 12 votes.
