Neah Bay: Makah Tribal Council general manager out less than month after hiring

NEAH BAY — Makah Tribal Council members are once again searching for a new general manager.

The council dismissed the most recently appointed general manager Nov. 19 less than a month after he was hired.

Makah Tribal Council Chairman Nathan Tyler said Keith Pike was appointed by the council as general manager on Oct. 30, but said he cannot say why Pike’s employment was terminated.

“According to the contract, we are not discussing any details or actions,” Tyler said. “I am not at liberty to discuss the personnel move.”

Tyler said Pike came to Neah Bay from Ukiah, Calif., and has been a consultant for a number of years for tribes in the Western part of the United States, but never for the Makah.
