Neah Bay: Arson damages Makah fuel depot

NEAH BAY — Authorities are investigating a suspected arson that ripped through the Makah Fuel Co. early Saturday morning, damaging Neah Bay’s only gas station.

Three male juveniles who live in Neah Bay are suspected to have caused the blaze, which started at about 2:20 a.m., Neah Bay Fire Chief Brian Parker said.

Makah officials did not identify the juveniles.

Firefighters evacuated a home near the fuel depot on Bayview Road and prevented the fire from reaching two nearby fuel tanks, Parker said.

One firefighter suffered minor asthma-related injuries in the blaze.
