Makah Days are about tradition and heritage, and one of Neah Bay’s natural wonders — rain — dampened the tribe’s 80th celebration Saturday.
But a part of tribal heritage is dealing with the rain, so the traditions — traditional dancing and drumming, salmon bakes, canoe races, a parade, coronation of royalty, Slahal (bone games) tournaments, and sports competitions — continue with joy and pride.
Scheduled events for today, the final day of the three-day Makah Days celebration:
* 11 a.m.: Canoe races
* Noon: Salmon bake.
* Noon: Co-ed slow pitch championship game.
3 p.m.: Street Fair ends.
