BRINNON — A motorcyclist who was hurt Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 101 after he was unable to negotiate a curve and left the roadway was no longer hospitalized Saturday.
Howard D. Hobart, 78, was driving a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle south on Highway 101, approaching the McDonald Creek bridge, when, according to the State Patrol, his high rate of speed in a curve caused him to go off the road to the right.
The wreck south of Brinnon at 2:09 p.m. sent the Anchorage, Alaska, resident to Jefferson Healthcare hospital in Port Townsend with unspecified injuries, according to a news release. He was no longer in the hospital Saturday.
Hobart will be cited for speeding, the State Patrol said.
The State Patrol said neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to the wreck and that Hobart was wearing a helmet.
Hobart’s motorcycle was towed from the scene.
