PORT ANGELES — A 53-year-old Port Angeles man suffered a broken nose when he was struck by a minivan while crossing U.S. Highway 101 just east of the city, the State Patrol said.
Robert E. Manley was treated for a broken nose and possible broken ankle at Olympic Medical Center after he was struck by a westbound 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by Michael K. Hurst near milepost 251 at 10:02 p.m. Friday, said Trooper Chelsea Hodgson, a State Patrol spokeswoman.
Manley was walking from north to south across the highway when he was struck by the driver’s side of the Dodge.
Hurst, 49, of Port Angeles, was not injured.
Manley was cited for crossing at other than crosswalks.
“One eastbound and one westbound lane was blocked for a short period of time during the investigation,” Hodgson said in a Saturday email.
