JOYCE — A 17-year-old Crescent High School student was crowned Joyce Daze queen during a coronation Wednesday night.
Lyndi Poats was selected from among three finalists to reign over the Joyce Daze Old-Fashioned Celebration 20th Annual Wild Blackberry Festival on Aug. 3.
The coronation had been delayed for a month because of a March snowstorm.
“It was a big surprise, very unexpected,” Poats said. “I am looking forward to representing Joyce.”
Rebecca Strong, 16, and Nicole Buie, 13, both of Joyce, were named Joyce Daze princesses.
