A 12-year-old equestrienne was rescued Sunday afternoon near the Gray Wolf River after she and her horse fell off a cliff in the Lost Mountain area, the Clallam County sheriff reported.
The girl walked away from the mishap with bumps, scrapes and bumps about four miles past the end of Slab Camp Road, Sheriff Joe Martin said.
A county rescue operation retrieved the rider and her horse inside Olympic National Forest south of Lost Mountain.
Martin said the rider managed to climb out from where she and the horse fell.
The horse’s condition was not known, the sheriff said.
