Look for Clallam-Jefferson election letters on Sunday

Two extra pages of letters to the editor about Jefferson County and Clallam County candidates and issues in this coming Tuesday’s primary election.

In the meantime, check out who’s running and why in the PDN’s free election guide — there are actually two, one for Jefferson County, the other for Clallam County — available on this website.

You can get the print copy at PDN offices and at your public library and courthouse.

In addition, Washington state is fortunate in having an award-winning website, www.VotingForJudges.org — a comprehensive and objective collection of available information about the state’s judicial candidates.

Starting with that information, you can look at the personal history and experience of the candidates,

find out who is funding their campaigns, discover how candidates are evaluated and rated by objective groups.

Tuesday’s primary will determine one or two state Supreme Court positions and two state Court of Appeals positions. It will also narrow down several trial court contests, including Clallam County District Court judge (Position 1).

The races are also profiled in the PDN’s election guide.
