PORT TOWNSEND — The North Olympic Salmon Coalition will hold coho salmon survey training for interested volunteers Wednesday.
The training will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Madrona Room at the Washington State University Jefferson County Extension Office in the Cupola House at Point Hudson, 380 Jefferson St.
Volunteers will learn all about North Olympic Salmon Coalition survey protocol and form or join teams that will then conduct weekly coho surveys on Chimacum Creek.
Surveyors mark salmon redds, collect data from carcasses and count live coho.
To attend the training, RSVP to Larry Montague at intern@nosc.org or 360-379-8051
