The League of Women Voters of Clallam County has announced four free public forums to help voters become better informed about candidates for local elections.
Audience members are encouraged to bring questions for the candidates.
Candidates for other offices who are in attendance will be invited to introduce themselves at the conclusion of the forum, after which there will be time for one-on-one, question-and-answer sessions with all candidates.
The Olympic Medical Center commissioner and city council races in Forks and Port Angeles will appear on the August primary ballot because there are more than two candidates running for these offices. The top two vote-getters will advance to the general election in November.
Though the Charter Review Commission election will appear on the November general election ballot, candidates forums are being presented this summer in order to give candidates more time to become known to the voters, and and for the League of Women Voters to reduce the number of forums held during what they call a “very busy general election season.”
League volunteers will video-record this forum, and shortly after the event a link to the recording will be available at the League’s website at www.lwvcla.org.

• 6 p.m. June 25, at the state Department of Natural Resources-Olympic Region Headquarters, 411 Tillicum Lane, Forks — Candidates for Forks City Council, Position 5 (Mike Gilstrap, Christina E. Kohout, Danny Smith) and candidates for Charter Review Commission-District 3 (Debrah (Deb) Cooke, Don Corson, Rod Fleck, Mike French, Brian Hunter, Andrew T. May, Joseph Murray, Kenneth P. Reandeau, Nina Sarmiento, Therese (Tree) Stokan, Lisa Unger).
• 6 p.m. June 27, at Sequim Transit Center, corner of North Second Avenue/Cedar Street, Sequim — Candidates for Olympic Medical Center/Hospital District-2/Director District 1/Position 1 (Nate Adkisson, Ann Marie Henninger, Warren Pierce) and candidates for Charter Review Commission-District 1 (Tony Corrado, Gary DeKorte, Sue Erzen, Alex Fane, Donald Hatler, Stephen Landess, David Lotzgesell, Ted Miller, Judith Parker, Candace Pratt, Jim Stoffer).
