PORT ANGELES — The League of Women Voters of Clallam County will sponsor a primary election forum featuring candidates for the District 2 Clallam County commissioner seat.
The forum will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 in Room 160 (commissioners’ meeting room) of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The primary election will be Aug. 2. In the top-two primary race, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will proceed to the Nov. 8 election regardless of party affiliation.
Ballots will be mailed July 13.
Of the candidates, two — Maggie Roth and Gabe Rygaard — are Republicans, while Ron Richards is a Democrat and Randy Johnson filed with no party preference.
All four candidates have been invited to participate.
The forum will include a short biography of each candidate. Candidates will have the opportunity to present their qualifications for the position and their primary goals if elected.
Members of the audience then can ask the candidates questions.
The forum will conclude with each candidate giving a closing statement.
Time will be allowed at the conclusion of the forum for a one-on-one question-and-answer session with the candidates.
