PORT ANGELES — Local law enforcement agencies will mark the observance of National Police Week with a memorial today at the Clallam County Courthouse flagpoles.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard will present the colors at 9 a.m.
A 21-bell salute will follow the ceremony at the replica of the Liberty Bell at Veterans Memorial Park at 217 S. Lincoln St. to honor police officers who have died in the line of duty.
Members of the public are encouraged to tie blue ribbons to their homes and vehicles to show their support.
Blue ribbons will be available at local businesses and blue light bulbs are available at the Sheriff’s Department for a $2 donation to the Honor Guard.
