A Minnesota man was transported to Forks Community Hospital late Wednesday after breaking his leg in a beach hiking area of Olympic National Park.
The victim’s name was not immediately available.
Olympic National Park officials said the 52-year-old man sustained the broken leg while on or near Beach Trail 3 south of LaPush.
Park officials said they did not have any information on how the injury occurred.
The hiker was carried out by park, Forks Fire Department and other rescuers, officials said.
The victim was transferred to Forks Community Hospital at 8:30 p.m.
Hospital officials refused to comment on the man’s status.
