OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — The footbridge over Kestner Creek along the Kestner Homestead Loop in the Quinault Rain Forest will be closed from Monday through June 23 for repairs.
The existing decking has substantial rot and must be replaced to ensure visitor safety when crossing, park officials announced Friday.
Due to this closure, it will not be possible to complete the Kestner Homestead Loop. This 2-mile loop starts at the Quinault Rain Forest Ranger Station and travels through temperate rain forest.
Visitors can still walk portions of the trail but cannot fully complete the loop.
The Quinault Rain Forest is in the southwestern portion of the park.
