PORT ANGELES — Some of the most dangerous police situations call for a specially trained officer — a canine.
On Monday, more than 70 K-9 police units from throughout the state began training during the first day of the Washington State Police Canine Association’s fall seminar in Port Angeles.
The three-day event concludes Wednesday.
Port Angeles Police Cpl. Kevin Miller and U.S. Forest Service K-9 officer Kristine Fairbanks are hosting the seminar.
