Ahead of today’s Juneteenth celebration and march, members of the Jefferson County Chapter of Black Lives Matter and the City of Port Townsend Arts Commission paint a temporary art installation along the north end of Water Street on Thursday.
The words Black Lives Matter are outlined and colored on the street. Juneteenth begins at 11 a.m. today at Pope Marine Park with speakers and music.
A march is planned starting at 11:45 a.m. or noon to go the intersection of Haines Place and Sims Way.
