JOYCE — Crescent School Board officials have appointed Sue Waldrip to fill a vacancy on the five-member board.
Waldrip, 45, is the mother of four Crescent students and has lived within the district for 17 years.
Waldrip replaces Lisa Barnes, who resigned in August for personal reasons.
School Board President Tracey Grover said Waldrip was selected over one other candidate because of the perspective she will bring to the board.
“Sue is an involved parent who has four kids in our district,” Grover said. “When she has a concern, she offers a lot of suggestions of what we can do to make things better.”
Waldrip, who is a homemaker, said she is excited about the opportunity to serve on the School Board and learn more about the day-to-day and governmental operation of the school district.
