JOYCE — Pies, pies and more pies.
That’s what attracted hundreds Saturday to the annual Joyce Daze celebration.
According to event volunteer Debrah Moriarty of Joyce, 888 slices of pie made with blackberries picked near Joyce were served to hungry event-goers.
“Six families made 148 pies to serve today,” Moriarty said Saturday as she served pie and ice cream.
In addition, several North Olympic Peninsula residents entered homemade blackberry pie in the annual bake-off contest.
Bakeoff winners are Lydia Rogers, first, and runner-up Cindy Baker, both of Joyce.
