JOYCE — Leaders of the Crescent School District say it’s soon to tell if a $1.31 million, four-year maintenance and operations levy will pass.
The first tally following the closing of the all-mail election at 8 p.m. Tuesday showed 462, or 58.63 percent, of voters supporting the measure, and 326, or 41.37 percent, saying no to the levy.
State law requires 60 percent voter approval for the measure to pass.
“I am encouraged by the strong majority,” said School Superintendent Rich Wilson.
“It looks like we are 10 votes out of the passing lane.
“It is too soon to tell. We will have to wait and hope for the best.”
