Blues, classic rock, Americana, jazz, rock ’n’ roll, classic country, country rock, rockabilly, rhythm and blues, glam rock and more will get you into a movin’-to-the-groove mood.
Summer festivals begin next week, so get out and shake the rust off your dance steps this week so you’ll be ready.
Forks
■ On Saturday at Blakeslee’s Bar and Grill, 1222 S. Forks Ave., the Soul Ducks play danceable Motown, rockabilly and rhythm and blues from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Joyce
■ Today at Salt Creek Saloon and Grill, state Highway 112 and Camp Hayden Road, Chip Norris hosts the music jam from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Port Angeles
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, it’s Jerry’s country jam featuring Les Wamboldt singing popular country swing music with new summer hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Locos Only gets you dancing to a rock ’n’ roll groove from 8 p.m.
■ Today at Cafe New Day, 102 W. Front St., Dan Maguire, local singer and director of next week’s Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts, performs original tunes from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ Today at Bella Italia Restaurant, 118 E. First St., The Mogis, Kim and Jason, are joined by bassist Paul Stehr-Green at 8:30 p.m.
■ On Friday at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, Serendipity hosts a country jam from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Then, Ed and Gary of the Tony Flagg Band join Serendipity from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

That’s right, the Nasty Habits are in town, pounding out their glam groove from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. $5 cover.

■ On Friday at R Bar, 132 E. Front St., Seattle bluesman Blumeadows plays his blues, rock and reggae at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Joy in Mudville (with Jason, Paul and Colin) plays roots, Americana and more at 9 p.m.
■ On Monday at the Bushwhacker Restaurant, 1527 E. First St., Charlie Ferris brings his “Memories and Melodies” show with smooth renditions and tales of the classic pop hits of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ On Tuesday at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., the Port Angeles Senior Swingers present Wally’s Boys playing ballroom dance favorites from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover; first-timers free.

■ Today at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., Cort Armstrong and Jim Faddis entertain from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Saturday, the Skip Morris Trio plays jazz to barely jazz from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Wednesday, Bill Volmut showcases original tunes and covers from the 1960s and ’70s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Saturday, the power trio Lowire shows a new groove at 9 p.m.

High notes
■ On Saturday, the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association, or WOTFA, has its monthly meeting and public performance at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, with guitars, banjos, mandolins, etc., along with fiddles at 1:30 p.m. The Old Sidekicks also join the show.
Then, WOTFA invites the public to a contra dance from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Nan Evans calls while the WOTFA band, led by Kristin and Otto Smith, plays the reels, jigs, waltzes and more.
Donation of $5 for adults is suggested. Ages 16 and younger are admitted free.
■ On Saturday, the final square dance of the season is at Quimper Grange, 1217 Corona St., Port Townsend, with Peckin’ Out Dough and caller Dave Thiek providing the old-time music. Dancing starts at 7:30 p.m.
A donation of $5 for adults is suggested. Ages 16 and younger are admitted free.
■ On Sunday, an English country dance is held at the Rosewind Common House, 3131 Haines St. at the corner of Umatilla Avenue, Port Townsend, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Dancing patterns will be taught by Nan Evans, with music provided by the Rosewind Country Dance Band.
The dance will be followed by a potluck dinner; $5 suggested donation.
The Rosewind Common House is a fragrance-free facility, and no street shoes are allowed (dance shoes or slippers are fine).
