Jefferson: Three-month county commissioner lauded at farewell party

PORT TOWNSEND — Though less than three months of Jefferson County commissioner experience fell under her belt, Judi Mackey was praised as a important asset to the board at a farewell party Monday.

“In almost 11 years in office, appointing you is probably the best vote I’ve ever taken,” Commissioner Glen Huntingford, R-Chimacum, told her at the County Courthouse event.

Al Scalf, director of the Department of Community Development, praised Mackey for her “instinctual nature of looking at the big picture.”

For Mackey, D-Brinnon, the short stint on the board was rewarding, she said.

“I really appreciate the opportunity to serve the citizens of Jefferson County,” she said.
