DABOB — It’s an ideal playground, full of logs, rocks, and dark deepwater holes — just the way the baby coho salmon likes it.
And it’s all part of the newly restored Tarboo watershed, dedicated to restoration supporters by Northwest Watershed Institute on Friday.
About 30 conservation-minded participants were honored during the site dedication ceremony and took part in watershed tour, led by Peter Bahls, executive director and a founder of the institute.
Port Townsend-based Northwest Watershed Institute is a nonprofit organization specializing in watershed restoration in Washington and Oregon since 2001.
On Friday, the group toured a 15-mile stretch of newly restored creek that drains into Dabob Bay.
