Retiring Quilcene School District Superintendent Judi Mackey is Jefferson County’s newest county commissioner.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Mackey said Monday evening after learning of the selection Monday by the two seated county commissioners. “I feel very honored.”
Mackey, 61 and a Democrat succeeds Wendi Wrinkle, a Democrat from Shine who resigned June 15 because of health concerns.
Mackey will be sworn in to the 3rd District seat during a ceremony July 7 — about a week after she retires from the school district — when Commissioners Dan Titterness, R-Port Townsend, and Glen Huntingford, R-Chimacum, resume their regular schedule of meetings after being away at conferences.
Her annual salary will be $53,107.98.
