Jefferson: Hubby of former Demo leader new chairman

Bill Biery of Port Townsend was elected chairman of the Jefferson County Democratic Party on Tuesday night.

Biery is the husband of former chairwoman Nancy Biery, who stepped down last year. The chairman who followed her, Marty Gay, quit to take a position as the interim director of the county Economic Development Council.

As chairman, Biery said he would work to “deliver votes for the Democrats at every level of government this fall.”‘

“A lot of people are becoming interested in politics, and it’s our job to keep them interested,” he said.
